JC Weight Loss Centers Canada Ltd. (the “Company“) filed an assignment into bankruptcy on May 4, 2023, pursuant to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (“BIA“) and GlassRatner Restructuring Inc., LIT (“GlassRatner”), was appointed as Trustee in Bankruptcy. The Company operated Jenny Craig weight management centers in 5 provinces across Canada.

Status Update
The First Meeting of Creditors was held via Microsoft Teams videoconference on May 24, 2023, at 11:00AM (PDT).
The Trustee in the US proceedings for Jenny Craig advised GlassRatner that notices were sent to Canadian landlords regarding a court order pertaining to the US landlords. In the view of GlassRatner, there is no action to take on the part of the Canadian landlords.
